FOR TODAY
Monday, October 12th, the late edition...
Outside my window...dark & still, as once again I am sitting down to write this at bedtime...though I did sit on the couch to watch a TV show with Jeff, so that was nice.I am thinking...has it already been a week since I last blogged? I have had so many blog ideas running through my brain this past week & often I will even start "writing" new posts in my mind...just haven't found the right USB cable to download them yet!
I am thankful for...fall, friends, family, faith & rainy days!
From the kitchen...Cool Autumn days make me feel like cooking again, so tonight we had home made chicken pot pie & applesauce (from a jar.) I have to say that the kids ate up the food & kept talking about how yummy it was & giving me the thumbs up sign...oh, if they could always eat so merrily!
I am wearing...jean trousers, white shirt & velour zippy jacket. Socks & my Croc sandals. I have enjoyed pulling socks out of the drawer once again!
I am remembering…obviously, I'm very forgetful because I distinctly remember thinking of this particular line earlier today & thinking about what I would write, but now I've forgotten it!
I am creating...furniture layouts in my mind for our new house...even though the renovation has just begun!
I am going...to hopefully get to go to my Moms group in the morning & STAY the whole time...my crazy day last Tuesday is a whole blog post in & of itself...
I am reading...Shepherding a Child's Heart for said Moms group. I read this book when Jack was a baby, but it is great to go back to it. I need the refresher & reminder of what the goal is.
I am hoping...to learn more about ISO & f-stop and all that fun camera stuff, so that I can learn how to take better photos.
I am hearing...Nothing but the whirring of my computer and the click of my fingers on the keyboard.
Noticing that…I need a haircut. I generally get my hair cut twice a year or less!
Pondering these words…For, "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever." 1 Peter 1: 24-25
On my mind…wondering if we will ever get our house to the point we feel good about putting it on the market...hmmm, we sure do want to sell it...but I really am trusting that God has the right buyer at the right time...for the right price...
Around the house...you know those closets still need organizing & decluttering...but we did make some progress in the garage this weekend.
I am excited about...renovations have begun on the new/old house! I am thrilled with all of the possibilities that lay ahead, I know it is going to be challenging, but we are very excited none-the-less!
One of my favorite things...apple picking!
A few plans for the rest of the week: Apple picking this weekend!
Here is picture for thought I am sharing...Sharing a few "before" pictures of the new house...brace yourselves...
The kitchen...I actually kind of wish we could keep the retro aqua oven, but those upper cabinets have to go to open up the room a bit! So alas, the oven must go, too.
The "formal living room"...we will use this for our dining room and the old dining room (where I'm standing to take this picture) will become our office. A 12 foot opening has already been cut in the long wall opposite the windows to open things up to the family room.
The laundry room/mud room...can you tell the wall paper is yellow with daisies all over it...even the ceiling is wall-papered!
The basement...this shows part of the main room on the lower level which we will use as a den/playroom/room-to-fit-everything-else that doesn't fit elsewhere! There is also a good sized bedroom, bathroom & storage room in the basement.
Front of the house from the road...this was taken in winter, you can hardly see the house with the trees full of leaves. I'm envisioning lots of football games, Easter egg hunts, etc. on this lawn! Needless to say, we've got some landscaping to do, but I know a guy...
Back of the house...this one was taken in spring when the trees were budding...we have lots of Dogwoods, my favorite!
The barn...yes, we have a barn & I think I love this almost as much as the house! Unfortunately, I think there are now city ordinances against livestock, but how cute would it be to have some chickens!
Well, that's probably all you can bear for now...I'll share the bedrooms & bathrooms later...the love affair with wall paper did not end in the laundry room...

Lots of our neighbors in Hungary have chickens. Just think...you'd always have fresh organic eggs! It could be fun! The rooster that lives across the street from us took awhile to get used to! I love the pics of your new house! Congrats! Happy renovating!
