Everybody Loves a Parade!

Who doesn't love going to watch a parade? And better yet, how fun to be IN a parade!!! Each year the girls' school puts on two fabulous parades, one for Christmas & one for Easter....and actually they do two days of parades each time to accommodate all of the children! Thankfully, this year both girls were scheduled to be in the Christmas Parade last Wednesday morning. Each classroom chooses a cute theme & the children dress up to match. Sophie's Kindergarten class did a Christmas Around the World theme & Darcy's class dressed up as Hershey kisses to be "Kisses for Jesus!" Too cute!

I love seeing the creative ideas that all of the different teachers come up with!
So, come along & enjoy a bit of the parade...
On come the bells, sweet little bells!
A precious shepherd watching over his sheep
Drew has a birds-eye-view for the show!
Okay, I couldn't resist another pic of our cutie, Drew! He loves a parade!
 There were shepherds & angels...
There were little drummer boys & girls...
...bringing their finest gifts to baby Jesus!
Cute little Christmas trees!
Precious little stars leading the way...
"May the Christmas Star Lead You to Jesus!"
 There were even fancy floats...
...and decorated buggies for the wee-ones!
I think this class was the whole nativity, with animals, angels, shepherds, Mary, Joseph & baby Jesus
 This little light of mine...
 ...I'm gonna let it shine!
 Wise Men Still Seek Him!
The "star" that the wise men followed
Cute, cute, cute class of Candy Canes!
And what is a candy cane, but an upside down J for Jesus!
 Here comes Sophie's class!
Sophie was dressed up to represent Greece (just like Jack did 3 years ago!)
 Even a William Wallace/Braveheart!

More cute candy canes reminding that Jesus is the Reason for the Season
This class was "Sledding for Jesus"
And next was an adorable class of snowmen...
 "Snow in Love with Jesus"
And here's our sweet Hershey Kiss, Darcy!
There's a smile! It is a little overwhelming for the kids, I think...good thing the parade comes around twice...
 More pretty floats...

Love these adorable hand-print wreath t-shirts!
Those precious drummers again! I loved how colorful they were!
A sweet Mary & Joseph with baby Jesus in a manger
I thought this little shepherd was too cute!
 Our sweet Greek girl again!
Drew says, "Hey, I have on a red shirt, I think I will just join the parade!"

This class was dressed up in party hats & carrying presents...for a birthday party for Jesus!
The poster reads, "What can I give Him? I'll give Him my heart!"
Here's Darcy's class again, led by sweet Ms. Rene!
Darcy was ready with a big smile this time!
Sweet little Mary's carrying baby Jesus!
After the parade, it was a bit chaotic, but I tried to snap a few photos of the girls' classes...
Sophie's class, Christmas Around the World!
Darcy would not smile for a single photo after the parade, I guess she got camera shy,but isn't that the cutest bunch of Kisses you've ever seen!!

Whew, I'm just glad to finally get this post posted, it has been in the works for days...we had a nasty stomach bug hit our household last week/weekend...the second one in a month! I am praying that we are over & done with all that mess for quite some time! Poor Sophie was sick the day of her class Christmas program & so she had to miss it, but she was a trooper about it & has been saying her lines & singing the songs for us at home. Then, this weekend my Mom & I took the girls to see the local YMCA ballet production of The Nutcracker...and of course, I started feeling ill & didn't take a single picture :-( But the girls looked adorable & had so much fun watching the dancers of all ages. Sophie watched the story intently (it is actually not one we had read with the kids before) & Darcy was precious swaying & waving her arms like the dancers did. And the crown of our busy weekend was our church's fabulous Christmas Concert on Sunday morning & evening. Jack & Sophie's choirs both performed in the concerts & did a fantastic job! The whole concert was A-mazing & brought such glory to God! But again, I have no pictures because I missed the morning service & was still a little green for the evening performance...but I guess we just store some memories in our hearts! Sickness & all, our Christmas-season is off to a wonderful start & we are looking forward to SO much more to come...so stay tuned!

That was precious and all the kids were adorable. And as you said they were so creative too. Sophie was the perfect "little Greek girl." Her great grandmother Yaya would have been very proud and this grandmother Yaya IS very proud and both Sophie and Darcy.
