Well, I think the title says it all...our summer has been off to quite a busy start & to kick-it off we celebrated Sophie's 5th birthday all weekend & into this week! Here it is the beginning of a NEW weekend & somehow I have not managed to post all the pictures from last weekend yet, so here they are! And because I always forget to upload them in reverse order, they are backwards...so I'm starting with the last pictures first! I'd like for you to think that this was a clever idea on my part...like those movies that are shot backwards...but it isn't & I don't have time to put everything back in order! I hope that you'll enjoy seeing what we've been up to anyway! Have a great weekend!

Quick Fruit of the Week update: We have had a lot of fun talking about JOY this week for our Fruit of the Spirit. We have had many opportunities to talk about what true joy is, where it comes from & that it is more of an attitude choice than a feeling. We have talked about many Bible verses that teach about joy and rejoicing and we have sung lots of fun songs ("I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy..." & "The joy of the Lord is my strength" & even "Joy to the World.") Next, week we work on PEACE...which sounds pretty nice to me seeing as I have a screaming 2 year old throwing a tantrum for some unknown reason...Peace!

Hey Melanie,
It looks like you guys had a fabulous weekend! The lake looks so inviting... and tubing really is the best; though you won't catch me doing "tricks" like Shane. :-) Drew is so precious being held by his Pop. Thanks for sharing these wonderful snapshots of your family's weekend.
What a beautiful young lady you have there! And what a wonderful weekend. Yay for summer!!! Drew is too cute --- all that hair!! Blessings!!
Melanie,
I love your fruit of the spirit idea for the summer, our household certainly needs the self-control and gentleness lesson. Keep the updates coming.
I love that the fruits of the spirit learning series is off to a great start with JOY. I can't wait to hear about the others as they are taught. We seem to be stuck on the Self Control fruit at our house and we may just make it an all summer teaching!!!
Love the update. You guys look like you know how to have fun! Love the tubing pics! Your little baby is just too cute...makes me excited about our little boy coming soon ":)
Kelli
