So this was what the girls did as soon as we got home this morning, the first day of summer break & what do they do? Get out their hats, mittens & snow boots...because it's "cold" outside!
This was the reaction I got as soon as Darcy saw my camera..."NO Mommy!!", and she turned her back on my & kicked her feet!
Sophie was much more cooperative.
Heading outside to brave the cold!
Now Darcy will say cheese! LOL!
Drew was very amused by his sisters' antics!
Oh, before I forget I wanted to share the BBQ Chicken recipe I made this weekend...I've had a few requests, so here it is...it is a slow cooker recipe & even better you throw the chicken breasts in FROZEN! Now that's what I'm talkin' about! A friend brought us this dish for dinner after we had Drew & it was an instant favorite!
Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken BBQ
INGREDIENTS
- 6 frozen skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
- 1 (12 ounce) bottle barbeque sauce
- 1/2 cup Italian salad dressing
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
DIRECTIONS
- Place chicken in a slow cooker. In a bowl, mix the barbeque sauce, Italian salad dressing, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Pour over the chicken.
- Cover, and cook 3 to 4 hours on High or 6 to 8 hours on Low.
You can find the recipe here: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Zesty-Slow-Cooker-Chicken-Barbecue/Detail.aspx
And how cool is it that they have a handy calculator to double the recipe on the allrecipes.com website. I was serving a crowd, so I doubled it & still had plenty left over. It is delicious reheated & also freezes well.

I can't wait to try this receipe.I am always looking for a new way to save time and have some good eats all in one.
This is so funny! I have a photo of Zachary, in Colorado when he was 2 1/2.... He was standing in front of the tv and the morning weather report was predicting highs in the 90's. Zachary was wearing underwear, snow boots, snow hat & a coat!! It was June. Kids are so fun!! Glad you had a great weekend.
Melanie, Thanks so much for the yummy recipe. I look forward to trying it this week. We missed getting to see you and Jeff in Sunday School this week, but I'm glad you had a wonderful time at the lake. The girls look cute in their winter wear.
