Happy 10 Months Drew!

I should be used to it by now, but I still cannot believe how quickly one year can fly by! On Thursday this week last week (boy, I keep starting posts & taking forever to finish them!), anywho, last Thursday Drew turned 10 months old!! We ate dinner out that night at Chic-fil-A to support Jack's school and after dinner the kids each got an ice cream cone. Since the cones were pretty large, we scooped a bit from each of the 3 older kids' cones into a bowl for Drew. I think this was his first time trying ice cream...I WISH I had my camera ready to capture the first expression....he was SO surprised by the cold, but as you can see here it didn't take him long to figure out that the cold stuff is YUMMY! Here is is mouth WIDE open waiting for the next bite! (I took these photos on my phone, so the quality isn't great.)
Still getting used to that cold feeling...
Licking every last drop off of the spoon!
MORE!
Jack & Darcy enjoying their ice cream, too!
Sophie with her ice cream "lipstick"!

At 10 months Drew continues to be a delight to us & to everyone he meets. He always has a big grin ready to which most people respond, "Look at all those teeth!"  He does have 6 teeth already (4 on top, 2 on bottom) & I think he's working on 8-10!
The next thing they will comment on is his BLONDE hair (especially since I'm often the one holding him with my VERY dark hair!) He has had TWO haircuts and is already in need of another to keep it out of his eyes & trimmed up over his ears.
I love these sweet blue eyes & this happy little grin...
Drew continues to be happy & good-natured. He is content to scoot or crawl around & play...army-style scooting still remains his favorite way to get around, but every once in a while he will crawl the old-fashioned way. He's also pulling up now & starting to "cruise" the furniture which has allowed him to take his mess-making to a whole new level! Drew really keeps the big kids scrambling to get their Legos, books, magazines, school-work, pencils, and all those tiny pieces up and out of his ever-expanding reach!
Drew is also enjoying eating with the big kids more & I don't think we have found a food yet that he doesn't like. When he sees others eating, he will start grunting & shouting, like "Hey, over here, I need food!" He's also starting to say a few words like Da-Da & Ma-Ma (oddly, he seems to say that more when he's mad!) He says something that sounds remarkably like "good job!" and we aren't quite sure yet what he is referring to...possibly Jack or the dog. He has also said "da" for the dog and "ca" for the kitty cat, although those could have been happy accidents as he is not consistently saying them.
We all love our little guy SO much & can't believe the countdown is on until his FIRST birthday! Wow! Now I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out a great first birthday party theme for him...hopefully it will be our first party in our new house! (And hopefully we will have moved in with at least a few weeks to get settled!) Jack's first birthday was a football theme, Sophie's was a summertime garden party/BBQ, Darcy's was a Circus theme...what will be next? I don't even want to think about the fact that this may be my last 1st Birthday party to throw...better make it a good one!
