HOME!!!

Well.........................we are HOME! I'm stealing a moment in between boxes & while Darcy & Drew are napping to just update the blog. I wish I had some pictures to upload, but I haven't yet found the cord to download them off of the camera...suffice it to say, we have boxes everywhere, the garage is packed, almost every interior flat surface has the contents of empty boxes...slowly, but surely, though I am finding new homes for all of our stuff...and sometimes the new home will be someone else's home...I have started several get-rid-of boxes!
We did end up moving on Tuesday, in the snow! Actually, I think the snow was preferable to rain...a steady soaking rain would have been awful. It was almost like a storybook or something, with all the pretty snow coming down & the boxes coming into the house. The snow didn't stick at all throughout the day, but then we woke up to a pretty white yard...very fitting for a fresh start in our new home! God is SO COMPLETELY GOOD, ALL the time!
I am amazed at how quickly this house has become HOME...I'm not sure if it is because all of our stuff is here or because we visited it so many times, but the kids all love their rooms & the yard! Even with most of the toys still packed away, they have had fun playing & exploring. It has all been one big adventure to them & they have settled in SO nicely, praise the Lord! And Jeff & I feel that way, too...of course, we are still "getting-to-know" the house...and we still have boxes & STUFF everywhere...and there are still workers coming & going finishing up our punch-list items...but we really feel so comfortable here despite all of that...again, God is GOOD! It is funny how quickly we have transitioned from calling this "the new house" to just calling it "home!" Darcy did say something cute the first day here...we still give her jelly beans when she goes poopie on the potty & when she had done that on Wednesday she asked me, "Can I get my jelly beans when we get home?" But I told her we WERE home & have the jelly beans here...so as long as there are jelly beans, she's home! And now it is funny to hear Jack refer to "the house we used to live in," as he calls it. On moving day, it was cute because he kept calling the old house, "the house I woke up in." But now we have had three mornings waking up here & we are settling into a nice routine. It is SO great to be closer to school!
Okay, I have to tackle a few more boxes while I have some quiet! I am enjoying the new view from my computer desk...I can now watch the birds & squirrels play in the front yard trees. Right now, a squirrel is perched on the top of a hollow in a tree which I assume must be his (or her) home. It is the perfect spot for him to survey the scene. I think I will enjoy watching him & perhaps I will even name him!
Photos coming SOON! (As soon as I find that USB cord!)

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you, finding the Lord's goodness among the mess of moving. I always love settling into a new place. It must be especially satisfying when you know this is where you are settling. I have several USB cords... I will stick one in my bag right now in case I see you this weekend and you haven't found yours yet. Let me know if I can help!! Blessings!

Yay Melanie! I had been waiting to hear how everything went. I can't wait to see pictures. It must be nice being closer to school.

Today, as I was writing the date, I remembered that tomorrow is Jeff's birthday! Please tell him that I said Happy Birthday. I hope you have a great weekend and you accomplish a lot!

Melanie...I'm so relieved it went well for you guys. I was a little worried when it started snowing...but I'm glad that you did FINALLY get settled into your new house! Its such a relief to know the kids are settled and love their new rooms...that makes a huge difference!!! The next few days with warm weather and sun shining will help them explore that huge backyard! Let me know if you need any help with ANYTHING!! I had wanted to bring a meal by this week but we had pukies and strep throat and colds! Thought the food might get a bit contaminated. Maybe I can bring one on Monday?
Love you guys!!

Melanie, I am so glad you move is going so well. Just goes to show children don't care where they live as long as their Mommy and Daddy are there. I am sure, however, they are enjoying the outside and discovering new things. I am looking forward to pictures.
