Ai ya ya ya, Ai ya ya Yaya!

Springtime is full of wonderful celebrations in our family and one very special day is my mom's birthday! It was exactly one month ago today! My mom is Yaya to my kids, just as her mother was my Yaya, because yiayia is grandmother in Greek.

Yaya's birthday was on a Sunday this year, so we were able to take her & my dad out to lunch at the Macaroni Grill & then they came back to our house to visit. Probably the best present the kids could give her (aside from the requisite hugs & kisses) was to cooperate for some pictures! It was a gorgeous day & the kids were all excited to celebrate Yaya's birthday, so everyone actually did really well for the pictures. (Even Drew who was the last to get over the stomach bug that had circulated through our house in early April...poor guy didn't eat a bite of lunch, but turns out that was a good thing as he up-chucked his breakfast in the restaurant parking lot on our way out! He wasn't feeling great during the pictures, but he did his best!)

The photo shoot...
Darcy & Drew aren't looking...
Sophie's eyes are closed & Lucy's covering her face...
Drew's eyes are closed, Darcy's looking sideways & Lucy is playing peek-a-boo!
Jack is still looking & smiling, but everyone else is looking away!
I have no idea what's going on here!
Finally! All eyes open!
Yaya & her five precious grands!!
Just the girls!
Yaya & Lucy! (I love this one of both of them!)
Just the boys!
(and Lucy...Yaya wouldn't give her up!)
Oldest & youngest grandchildren!
Sharing a tender moment with Drew & Lucy!

The next day was the first day of the girls' spring break, so while Jack was at school the rest of us headed to Yaya's office to celebrate her birthday with her wonderful co-workers. Then, my mom took the rest of the day & the following day off so that the girls could spend the night & enjoy some special time with Yaya & Grandpa!
It was a party for Yaya, but Lucy nearly stole the show!
Lots of love from Ms. Aja!
Lucy deep in thought...
But there's one thing that we don't have to think twice about...
We LOVE you, Yaya!
You are kind & giving, caring & fun, generous with your time & gifts!
We thank you for ALL that you do for us...especially for praying for each one of us & helping to teach your grandchildren about Jesus!
We had so much fun celebrating your birthday this year & look forward to many, many more!!!
