Then after church, we actually didn't have any big plans this year. We decided to keep things very low-key, so we came home & ate a simple lunch & just enjoyed a quiet afternoon at home. As is always my wish on major holidays when the kids are dressed up, I wanted to get a few pictures of the kids in their Easter best...in past years, this has not been a happy endeavor, not has it yielded satisfactory results...but I will not give up! And this year, I can jubilantly report that out of the hundreds of photos I snapped (yes, it really was almost 200!) there were actually some really great shots! Shots that I even printed out & have framed in our house! So please enjoy a little recap of our Easter photo shoot...
Sophie was first up & very excited about the pictures...and she wanted a picture with Daddy! I actually snapped the one above when I was checking my white balance, but I think it captured a tender father-daughter moment!
Daddy & Sophie girl!
Next Darcy wanted some poses all by her self! She came up with the above pose all by herself...I'm not exactly sure that lying flat as a board makes for a great photo, but hey she was being cooperative for pictures, so I snapped away!
Another Darcy pose...
...and another!
Then the girls wanted to take pictures together!
Sisters...
Sweet Sisters
They are always so kind & loving to one another
They never argue or fight...
They always share & share alike...
Yeah right! But sisters are still pretty awesome!
Me & the big girls
Then they wanted to act silly
So we all practiced our funny faces for the camera!
I ran out of funny faces before the girls did!
Handsome Jack (Where did my little boy go?)
All the kids!
And this is where my utter amazement begins...
Everyone actually cooperated & smiled...
Everyone was looking at the camera!
And they all acted like they like each other
Such wonderful cooperation deserves some silly face pictures!
And always kisses for Lucy!
Last, I have seen several people with cute pics of their kids all laying with their heads in a circle in the grass. So I wanted to try to get a picture of our kids like this...kind of like spokes on a wheel...
But instead this is where the wheels fell off the wagon!
The girls were troopers, but the boys not so much...
Drew screamed the entire time! Jack kept rubbing his eyes & squinting saying the sun was getting in his eyes.
Lucy was just hanging out sweet as can be! Maybe we will try that pose again another day, maybe not!
Now Drew's happier playing with his best friend & jungle gym, Zoe!
Our oldest girl, Zoe, 10 years old!
Just a few of Mama & Baby Lucy
She is so sweet & couldn't you just eat up her little toes!
Look at her sweet rolls!
Sophie snuck into the picture, too!
And now the kids were striking all kinds of poses just to have their picture taken...
...things were starting to get a little silly!
And sillier...
...and sillier...
I have no idea what is going on here, but I think it is hysterical!
Just Jack!
Acting silly
Toothless Sophie!
We let Jack & Sophie snap a few pictures of us, too!
"Hey you, stop that!"
They let us act silly for the camera, too!
It's all good!
That's all folks!

Melanie the Easter photos are just wonderful! I love the one of all the kids, it came out so good. I think it is funny that the oldest is always the one squinting, I have an entire roll of beach pictures with Calla squinting and everyone else smiling perfectly:)
Those pictures are priceless--what a wonderfully beautiful family!
I love seeing them and then seeing the ones of the oldest three from Halloween at the bottom of the page.
LOVE!!!! Melanie, your pictures are so beautiful! You all look great! How fun to actually have not just one...but a few where everyone is looking at the camera and SMILING???!!! How did you do that? I esp love the funny face pics. Maybe I'll try doing that first from now on and then ask for the serious faces! Absolutely gorgeous family!!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE these pictures. And I'm still giggling about Darcy's pose. I haven't seen that one before! :-)
Beautiful pictures Melanie!!!! Looks like you have some little hams!
