Let There Be Lights...

What a difference a day or two can make...lights have gone in & the floors are about to get their final coat of poly...I dare say our house is starting to look like a place I'm VERY excited to call HOME! Here is some more progress...
The Laundry Room light was actually an original fixture in one of the bedrooms. It was brass (of course) AND woodgrain! However, my handy husband recognized its potential & with a few coats of silver spray paint, it has new life! I'll have to take a close-up so you can really see it, but it helps give the laundry room that neat vintage-y feeling that we are going for.
Pendant lighting over the eat-in penninsula
Breakfast room fixture, our kitchen table will go here, with benches because it is a tight squeeze for chairs.
Office fixture (they didn't hang all of the crystals yet.)
Foyer
Family room looking towards kitchen
Stairway, we call this the cake dome light!
Nursery fixture, a la IKEA
The bucket can be filled with pretty much anything except for water!
I'm still brainstorming what to put in there first! Stuffed animals, flowers, rocks, sticks, paper...ornaments at Christmas, leaves in the fall...the options are endless!

Familiy room fan; in the distance, hallway schoolhouse fixture
Master bath
Girls Room, another IKEA find
Perfect for Princesses!
Den
Fun fish light, IKEA again!
I think we will do a surfer themed room!
Bathroom
This light (below) is my favorite IKEA bargain...we knew the space in this hallway was tight, so we needed a small sconce that fit close to the wall. I saw this one at IKEA for $0.99 (yes, 99 cents!) Only catch, it had a brushed nickel finish...no problem...Jeff used some black & brown spray paint he already had to achieve an antique bronze finish that perfectly matches the rest of the fixtures!
The Cake Dome fixture up close!
Kitchen, again!
Front porch
Exterior
Here is the front again today, the railings had just been put up!
And the kitchen, again, today. The floors received the final coat of poly yesterday & look great!
Kitchen backsplash with grout finished
I look forward to standing at the kitchen window & seeing many more scenes like this outside!
Now I guess if I ever want to actually get moved into this house, I need to get off of this computer & pack some more boxes! LOL! (Still waiting on the carpet, but it should be installed by early next week.)

I can so relate to the "spray-painting-light-fixtures". We have done that soooooo many times! And hardware for cabinets, etc. W/a little bit of spray paint...anything is possible! Love the house, Melanie! I bet the kids are getting excited now that they can see their rooms almost done!

Love the lighting! We have the same chandelier in our daughter's room and I think our bathroom fixtures are the same style! Looks great! I know you are ready to have it DONE! I have been thinking about changing our door to red, too! Not sure but yours looks great!

The house looks so good! Now you just need to have a house warming party so we can all see it in person!!
