A Happy Birthday

We had lots of fun today celebrating Sophie's birthday! To start the day off on the right foot, as a special birthday treat, Sophie & I went for pedicures this morning. Jeff came home for a couple of hours to stay with the little ones, so it was really fun to just have some girl-time with my new 6 year old! She had such a big smile on her face the whole time & really enjoyed the pampering!
Posing by the fountain

I'm not sure what's up with Sophie's Donald Trump hair, it was a bit windy out...and bright as evidenced by her squinty eyes!
20 pretty toes!
Me & my Sweet Sophie!
We came back home for lunch & then headed out to the girls' swim lessons. They have had SO much fun this week doing a 20-minute swim lesson every day. They were so sad when I said tomorrow is the last day. I may sign them up for another week later in the summer because they have had fun & have really made so much progress!

After swim lessons, we headed to the store to pick out Sophie's cake. She decided on an ice cream cake this year, YUM! We picked up some other goodies to put out for her family birthday party, including the biggest strawberries that I have ever seen! (FYI...they are B1G1 at HT this week & they were delicious, too, SO sweet!)

So we came home, spruced up the house & got things ready for her party. While I was working in the kitchen for a while, Sophie was busy decorating her room. She emptied out her jewelry box & had pretty necklaces strung all over the room. She also had spread out a blanket for her stuffed animals & had made a "Welcome to Sophie's Birthday" sign that was right outside the door, propped up by two teddy bears. I wish I had taken a couple of photos, but I think someone likes party-planning just like her mama!
Soon enough, our guests arrived, both sets of grandparents & Jeff's sister's family. There were 15 of us in all & it made for a lovely party to celebrate our sweet girl!
And then the part Sophie had been waiting for all day long...present time!
Drew checking out the gifts before Sophie opened them!
A Belle doll!
Everyone likes to help!
Darcy enjoyed seeing what Sophie got just as much as Sophie did!
Dress-up clothes
A new camera!
Butterfly catching net for my nature girl!
Darcy is borrowing some of Sophie's presents, trying on the new ballerina outfit.
Drew is finding all sorts of interesting things, too!
And now for the ice cream cake!
Happy Birthday Dear Sophie...
Happy Birthday to YOU!
Hope that your day was as sweet as you are! You are a blessing & you bring joy to our hearts every day! We love you!
