Firsts & Flashbacks

Today was Drew's first official party in his preschool class. You know the kind, 15 little ones & 20+ mamas & papas (grandparents, too!) A tiny room, with tiny chairs. The ambient room temperature somewhere near 85 degrees & enough fancy cameras to rival any red carpet event. A couple of cute songs, some kids singing...some kids clinging (that would be Drew) but I wouldn't miss it for the world! I know that Drew has just started his preschool career, but I already feel like he's going to be starting kindergarten (and then before I know it, college!) in the blink of an eye.
Of course in my rush to get to the room lugging Lucy in her carseat (because I thought it would be too crowded for the stroller,) I left my camera in the car, so I was only able to snap a few pictures with my phone.

Drew had a specific place for each sticker to go

And this is the face I got when I asked Drew to do his "picture smile"...cooperating for pictures & giving me his best "picture smile" lasted for about a week & now it's back to lots of pictures of the top of his hat!

And just because...a little flashback to this same day in 2008...Sophie was in the 4s, Jack was in 1st grade & Darcy was 18  months (& Drew was in-utero)

Interesting how a lot of things from these pictures has not changed...same minivan, same booster & carseat in the van (just different kids in them now), same sweaters on the girls in the van (but the girls each wear a size up now), same carpool line where the van sits (now waiting to pick-up 2 kids with 3 kids in the car !) 

I was thinking today (at a point in the day when I felt like complaining) just how very blessed I am! Some days are hard, some days are long, but OH the blessings! Thank you, God, for my many blessings!
