Summer Memories...Love the Lake (part 2)

{Ah, remembering the relaxing days of summer!}
Because we are having a busy, but blog-boring week over here...and because I'm down to less than a week in my 31 Days of Blogging...I'm going to jump back to the summer again & pick up with some more lake fun! As has been our tradition for the last three years, we celebrated the 4th of July at the lake. As you can tell from all the smiles below, we enjoyed all kinds of water fun! We went ahead & took the entire week off & made it our summer vacation, so we enjoyed both lots of time on the water, as well as lots of time to relax. It rained almost every day we were there, but that was okay. In addition to the water activities, we also spent lots of quality time together reading, playing games & watching movies. We finally finished reading aloud C.S. Lewis's The Magician's Nephew one particularly stormy day & then proceeded to read The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe in its entirety in the same sitting!
(Be forewarned, since this is an entire week's worth of lake pictures there are a lot, a whole lot!! I'll never know if you scroll through really fast...or not at all!)
Everyone was excited to get back in the water & on the tube!
Well, almost everyone...Lucy enjoyed lots of naps!
{Princess on Board}
She also spent lots of time just looking really cute!
I think I've blogged this picture before, but the girl can sleep anywhere!
{It's amazing, these were taken just 3 months ago & already she has changed so much & seems SO much bigger!}
Our sweet, happy girl!
Drew also had lots of fun on the tube! He's starting to hang more with the big kids {sob} and isn't so much my baby anymore!
Lots of "trick riding" going on!
And Jack not smiling for the camera!
Lucy has it made in the shade!
Drew makes a great first-mate!
Yaya had fun riding the tube!
Give my regards to Broadway!
Cuteness, pure cuteness!

Take a picture of this, Mom!
Cannonball!!!!

Everybody jump!
One of the best things about lake-time is that the kids enjoy lots of Daddy's undivided attention!
Drew & Daddy taking a ride on the Seadoo. I'm pretty sure they were back in about 10 minutes with Drew sound asleep! He loves to ride the jet-ski, but it always puts him right to sleep!
Lucy enjoys watching the big kids play
But watching all that fun gets a little tiring...
...so a nap was in order.
{Are those not the cutest little toesies!}
And all that fun sure makes Drew hungry!
Grandpa took a little ride on the kayak

Fun with the doggies, Zoe & Duke

Hey look, a picture of me!
{Mama wuz there!}
The boat seems to be the prime napping spot...
And we were docked at this point!

We were able to invite some of our good friends down to spend a couple of days with us!
Riley, Sophie & Ms. Jenny, ready for fun!
Shane & Hudson

Corban's inaugural ride on the tube!

It's all good!
Ooops, where's Jack??!!
There he is!
You know it was July, so it was HOT...we stopped for a wonderful & refreshing swim break! Everyone loved cooling off & floating around in the big water!
Everyone except for Drew who was {uncharacteristically} fussy the whole day.

Sophie says, "Look Mom, no hands!"
Corban "surfing"
Not one to be out-done, Sophie's turn!
It started literally raining on our fun, so we docked the boat & enjoyed some time swimming & playing in the shallow water.
We need to get Drew a whistle & he'd make a pretty good life guard...

Or not!

Sweet Lucy enjoying the fun...
...and sleeping again!
After the rain stopped, it was time to break out the big guns...
marshmallow roasting!
Great way to end a fun day!
The next day dawned clear & hot again
We switched things up a bit with the tubes
The kids love that this one gets some good air!
Another swim break!

And more tubing!

Sweetness!

Raise your hands if you're having fun!

Strike a pose!
Everybody up! Sadly, day two also ended in an abrupt thunderstorm, so we had to end the fun a little sooner than expected. But we always love it when friends can enjoy the lake with us!
The rest of the week brought snuggles
and kneeboarding
and swimming
and fishing

and Zoe enjoying the water...
Our sweet Zoe...Drew still talks about her almost every day!

S'mores!
Lucy can't wait to get some teeth because those look good!

Drew thinks if he gives Sophie a big hug, she will share her marshmallow...
And it looks like it worked!
And so wraps up our look back at our 4th of July week at the lake.
{And I somehow managed not to get a single picture of any fireworks! Oh well, it was still a wonderful week & has me nostalgic for a boat ride & some warm, gooey s'mores!}
 {God Bless America & God Bless You}
