No Soup for You...

You mean it's only Monday? I feel like the weekend was days ago & we should at least be to Wednesday by now, that's the kind of day I've had. It hasn't been a terrible day. Actually I rather love Mondays right now because it is the only day of the week I don't have to be out of the house to take someone to school, but today was one of those constant days...where it seemed there were constant demands on my time & energy, where every time you think you might be able to sit down for just a minute, you remember the 27 other things you still have to do. Darcy started off the day throwing up & continued to do so until lunchtime, and by dinnertime she had a fever over 101.5. I am thankful though that she has eaten applesauce twice & kept it down!

I was just commenting last week how thankful I am that we have been really healthy this fall, praise God. I guess I am just out of the "sick routine" so today was long and tiring. But I do praise God that He sustains us & I thank Him for giving me energy & patience when I needed it today. And I ask forgiveness for when my patience was a little thin.

Autumn always finds me with a renewed desire to get in the kitchen & cook. And I have two new cooking magazines that I have been looking forward to browsing for some new meal ideas. All day long I though, Oh after I do this I will sit & look at some recipes. But somehow there was always another diaper, another throw-up (and I am not complaining because I have to say I have THE best sick girl, she made it to the bathroom the first time, then she got her own bucket & puked it in every time there after!), another mess, another boo-boo, another drip of sticky syrup to wipe up off the floor. And so today there were no minutes to sit...no soup for me. But that is okay because I did have lots of minutes to snuggle, to kiss boo-boos & hold hands. I am tired, and it's just Monday, and we have a full week ahead, but that's okay because I know  that one day I will get soup.

And because I cannot push Publish without a picture or two, here are a couple pics of a couple of my cuties.
Can't be down for long when you see these precious smiles! God is GOOD!
