A contributing factor to my being so tired this week (no it's not what you are thinking!) was that Jeff went to a convention out-of-town, so I was holding down the fort alone for the last several days. I salute all the single parents out there because after just four days, I am exhausted! And I had wonderful help from my mom & in-laws, as well (I'm truly blessed, thank you!) I'm very glad to report that Jeff got back into town this afternoon, so I am looking forward to some downtime tonight, perhaps some cookies & TV, and definitely going to bed before 2 am!
It required a lot of extra planning & coordinating this week to get the kids to their activities & such, but we managed. Today being a Saturday was especially hectic with Jack's football, Sophie starting cheerleading & also Sophie attending a birthday party. Between Jeff's parents, my mom, & myself, we managed to get everyone where they needed to be. (It definitely took a village!) The boys were able to spend last night at Jeff's parents' house, so it was just the girls here. Since it is very rare for only the girls to be home, we decided it was the perfect opportunity to have a fun girls night! Our sweet friend Aja, who works with my mom, was able to join us, as well. We had all the right ingredients for a great night...
Yummy pizza (and lots of it!)
+
(Yummy baby food for Lucy!)
+
Going out for ice cream with Yaya & Aja
+
(Lucy wishes she could have some ice cream!)
Special girlfriends
(Ms. Aja was such a good sport as the girls talked her ears off the whole evening!)

Big smiles &
Lots of cuteness &
a whole lot of fun!
Lucy commented...I sure miss my Daddy when he's out of town, but this whole girls night thing is pretty fun!
(On a different note, Lucy is proud of Mommy for keeping up with blogging every day this month...only 2 days left!!!)

I am super impressed that you still planned a fun night towards the end of Jeff's trip. The girls will love memories like that!
I agree...I do not do well at all when Jason is out of town! But at least you made the most of it and had a fun time with the gals! Lucy is so super cute! Love that pic of her and Aja!
I'm super impressed that you did it without Jeff and you did it so well! I have enough trouble keeping up with my cat.
Lucy is really changing now! She's adorable.
