Great Wolf Adventure Day Two

If you are just tuning in, please click here to see the start of our little Great Wolf Lodge get-away. Or if you prefer, a quick recap...Great Wolf water park is fun for all ages & you don't need ANY sunscreen!
I'm really tired tonight, Wednesdays are a long day for us, so this post is going to be more pictures & less words.
Another good thing about staying at a water park...the kids actually sleep well because they are WORN OUT! Our kids slept in Monday morning until after 8:00! We got up, got dressed & decided to go ahead & pack everything up & loaded into the car. Check out is at 11:00 am, but you are free to use the water park for the entire day, yes! Once everything was packed, we ate a late breakfast/brunch at their yummy buffet (We thought the food was good, but it was a little on the pricey side. But since so much is included with the room costs, we still felt it was a good value.)
After breakfast looking down into the water park...ready to get wet!
This HUGE bucket was in a constant state of being filled up & then when it reached capacity it would dump  hundreds of gallons of water down below!
It was one of Drew's favorite things to watch, though he would always run before it spilled over (good thing because I'm sure the force of the water would knock him over!)
Every 10 minutes or so, a metal bell would start clanging to signal that the bucket was about to tip over. People would come running from all over the park to get blasted by the water.
I preferred to watch rather than experience the watery cold blast first hand!
Now that's a LOT of water!
Drew watching the bucket spill!
Lucy was ready for her nap when we got to the park on Monday.
I walked her around in the stroller for a few minutes & soon enough she was out! Despite the loud noises (and constant roar of water!) she slept soundly for at least an hour.
Drew spent a lot of time exploring in the 18 inch deep kiddie pool area. He loved to "ride" on the jet skis & shoot the water guns! I would look over & see him talking animatedly to himself, most likely about putting out fires or some other heroic antics.
Darcy looking cute!

There goes the big bucket again!
Jack & Sophie spent a lot of time in the wave pool again. Oh & I realized I haven't even talked about the awesome water slides! There were about 6 big water rides for the big kids to ride. Sophie was tall enough to ride everything & Darcy could ride them all except for one (the Tornado, which I didn't get a chance to ride this time either, but Jeff & the kids all said it was SO fun!) Jeff & I would trade off watching the little ones & riding the water slides with the big kids. We were so thankful because the lines for the rides were practically nonexistent! Jack said when he was there in the summer he had to wait in long lines for the big rides. But we were able to ride things over & over again as quickly as our legs could carry us back up the several flights of stairs. (One of the few downsides of the park...I realized how out of shape I am when I had to keep walking up all the stairs, often carrying a 2 person tube!)

Drew pondering what to do next!
Have I mentioned that it's just like going to the beach...except for no sand, no wind, no bugs, and NO sunscreen!!

Darcy taking a break from the water to snuggle with Lucy who just woke up from her nap.

Ah, it was so nice just having relaxing, low-key time to play together as a family. No pressures, no where to be at a certain time...just time to dedicate to fun & fellowship. What a blessing!

There was also lots of sweet bonding time

Jack did a great job looking after Drew while Jeff was riding rides with the girls & I was feeding Lucy.

My sweet & handsome boys!
After several hours, everyone was starting to wind down...they headed back to the little kids play area for a little more spraying & splashing.

Don't look so confused, Lucy...yes, it is Mommy in a photo!

Oooh, I caught Jack smiling & snapped a picture before he protest.
And here comes the protest!

The girls ready for the mini splash tower

Lucy is cute no matter what!
By about 3:00 or so, the kids were all winding down & getting tired. We got everyone bathed & dressed & it was time to bid farewell to a fun place.

We all had such a fun time, we are hoping to plan another trip back very soon!
(Any local friends care to join us? The only thing I can think of more fun than the Great Wolf Lodge itself, is experiencing the Great Wolf with friends!)

Oh we'll have to visit! That looks so fun. We had a Great wolf lodge near us when I was growing up. I remember a friend had her Birthday party one year there but I've not been back in years. I love the rooms, that little cabin is so cool!! I love the wolf ears too, HA!
